1978

Ralph Hardtke, the 73rd Master of Kennewick Lodge # 153 F & AM was born in Orting, Washington, and came to Kennewick in 1950. He has spent most of his working years as a salesman. He is a holder of the Legion of Honor and worked for years with the youth group.

January 4, 1978
W. Bro. Floyd Ireland was elected an honorary member of Kennewick Lodge #153.

W. Bro. Paul Voss, W. Bro. Harry Heavner and W. Bro. Max Creighton were given a great round of applause for their work in placing the tile on the walls of the lodge room.

January 18, 1978
V. W. Bro. Don Brons spoke on the Grand Master's Widows Program. The following suggestions were made: 1. Set up a committee; 2. Select a couple to sponsor each widow; 3. Give each widow a widow's card; 4. Present each widow with a widow's pin.

March 15, 1978
The lodge was called from Labor to Refreshments for the purpose of the youth groups to put on skits.

The following awards were presented: First award for attendance, Jobies; serious skit, DeMolay; humorous, Rainbow Girls.

May 17, 1978
After closing lodge, the ladies were invited into the lodge room to honor them on Mother's Day. The Angelus Bell Ringers from the First Methodist Church entertained us. The Worshipful Master gave prizes to the "oldest mother," "the youngest mother," "the youngest grandmother," and "the mother with the most children."

September 20, 1978
Worshipful Brother Hardkte announced that the Tri-City Herald had notified him that the printing of the Trestle Broad would be increased from $30 per month to $70 per month.

October 4, 1978
Worshipful Master announced that the cornerstone laying ceremony be held on October 14. A noon lunch would be served in the Pasco Temple and then proceed to the schools of Canyon View Elementary and Southgate Elementary.

November 1, 1978
Brother Thomas E. Baldwin was presented with his fifty-year pin from the Grand Lodge of Missouri.

December 6, 1978
Election of officers for 1979 was held and Alan Michael was elected Master for 1979.
