1952

Earle M. Pence was Worshipful Master of the Lodge in 1952. He was a civil engineer by profession. He was active in the other Masonic Bodies before moving over to the west side of the state.

1952
Inflation was hitting, even back in 1952, for the Masonic Temple Association found it necessary to raise the rent to $150. Probably, if the truth is known now, it was just a matter of adjusting to the costs of running a bigger and better plant. Blue Lodge, in March of 1952, purchased 20 new tables for the dining room which came to $558 including freight.

Physical and financial help was still forthcoming for the temple, and in September the lodge voted to pay half the bill necessary to finish painting and decorating.

An audit was shown in the October records showing that the new temple had cost $75,280.56. Interestingly, the receipts were as follows: Lodge of Perfection, $28,799; Kennewick Lodge No. #153, $23,204.34; Sale of Bonds, $13,290; Loan from National Bank of Commerce, $10,000.

There continued to be so much degree work; sometimes only a couple of days would separate the special meetings.
