1950
Not only was the Lodge taking in many new brothers for membership in #153, but there were many courtesy initiations. The town was growing, and thus, did Blue Lodge and other affiliated bodies continue to prosper. This year it was proposed to change the fees of the Lodge from $60 to $75.

At the first part of the year, there was skepticism about the appropriateness of remodeling the present quarters. Talk was becoming serious about a new building. A committee reported that it was not feasible to remodel or build. However, donated labor and money might help supplement the money on hand, and so discussion continued through the winter and spring.

By May of 1950, the committee reported great progress on the building. By September, the plans were available for inspection. Harold Riggins seemed to be the chairman. Finally, in October, 1950, the plans were outlined and accepted by the Lodge. At first there was talk of having a basement, but the final report showed that the basement would be and the dining room and kitchen would be on the main floor by addition of an ell. Blue Lodge voted to have the Temple Association to proceed on a "pay-as you go" plan.
