Herman Schmidt came to Kennewick from the Midwest in 1921. He was manager of the Standard Lumber Company for many years and later was in business for himself. He served as Worshipful Master in 1938.

Brother H. C. Schmidt was installed as Worshipful Master by the District Deputy, Arthur Warner.

February 2, 1938
Moved and seconded that three collars be purchased and paid for out of the library fund. It was announced that Prosser had dropped out of the study club and that Grandview Lodge would join the club. Brother Glen Felton reported on the new chapter of DeMolay.

May 18, 1938
Moved and seconded that the lodge buy markers to be placed on the graves of departed brothers. To be paid for from library fund.

June 1, 1938
The Worshipful Master announced that Grand Lodge would be held in Walla Walla on June 22, 23, and 24 of 1938.

September 21, 1938
Dr. Schilling (not a member of the craft) gave a talk on health conditions in Europe.

October 19, 1938
Members from Pasco, Hanford, Benton City, Grandview, and Prosser met in the dining room to accompany the Grand Master for his official visit to Benton City. "76 in all"!

December 21, 1938
H. S. Whitbeck was elected as Worshipful Master for 1939.
